the duo behind
Third Story Renovation & Design

we're
cara & bari

Rooted in hands-on craft and driven by an eye for what a space could become. Our work lives at the intersection of function and feeling. We're here to build not just what you need, but what you didn't know to ask for — the details that make a house feel like it was always meant to be yours.

A thoughtful approach to enduring
spaces

Whether we're gutting a century-old rowhome or reworking a single overlooked closet, we approach each project with the same presence, care, and intention. We believe in honest planning over quick fixes, thoughtful craftsmanship over shortcuts, and finishes built to hold up long after the work is done.

Every space we hand back is built not just for now, but for the years ahead — for the mornings that start there, the dinners that run long, and the quiet, ordinary moments a good home makes room for.

who we are

On every Third Story Reno project, Cara leads with the same eye that's built her platform: a sharp sense of what a space needs, honest guidance through every decision, and hands-on involvement from first walkthrough to final install.

With years of hands-on renovation work behind her, Cara has a rare command of both the creative and the technical — and she knows exactly what it takes to get there.
